Mini-Ruggers was founded in 2011 in Newcastle upon Tyne. Our aim being to help the children locally learn about the great sport of rugby. A lot of local schools don’t offer rugby as part of it’s curriculum, meaning children had very little option of what to take part in, and this is what inspired Mini-Ruggers.

The North East of England has a very rich history of rugby, with players representing all levels from the local area. Over the last decade, the local professional rugby club, Newcastle Falcons has made a huge impact on the amount of local talent going on to represent England and other international countries at all honours, including players such as Jonny Wilkinson, Kieran Brooks, Matthew Tait and many more.

We believe in the southern hemisphere way of rugby, that it is more than a sport, it’s a culture. It can help your children develop in ways other sports cannot. We offer full training to your children so they begin to show development quickly. We offer specifically designed programmes to help develop your child’s confidence, communication, and coordination.

How do we do this?

By planning each session to everyone’s individual strengths, and ensuring everyone helps each other. We work as a team because we believe Together Everyone Achieves More.

All coaches are enhanced DBS checked, with Pediatric first aid qualifications. The lead coach is a fully qualified Level 3 RFU coach and others are minimum Level 1 RFU coaches.
